4/8/09 – Bradshaw Medical, Inc. announced earlier today that they were granted an approval for their Torque Limiting & One Way Ratcheting Mechanism, utility patent US 7,516,676. This is the twelfth patent granted to Bradshaw Medical since May 2007. “This recent innovation with our all-in-one torque-limiting and one-way ratcheting mechanism is another example of BMI’s commitment to leading the development charge in the spinal and orthopedic instrumentation field. By combining both torque-limiting and ratcheting features into one mechanism, the need for two separate devices in the operating room has been eliminated therefore reducing overall instrument expense to the OEM’s we serve and improving the time it takes for the attending surgeon to perform a procedure.” stated Guy Bradshaw, CEO.

2/18/09 – Bradshaw Medical, Inc. announced that earlier today they were recommended for approval by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to be ISO-13485:2003 certified for their quality management system specific to medical devices, at the company’s Kenosha, WI headquarters. “This is another tremendous achievement and significant milestone in the short history of our organization. It truly demonstrates our ongoing commitment to provide our customers in the spinal and orthopedic community with the highest quality instrumentation available today. It assures them that we have the necessary design and development controls, manufacturing processes, and quality documentation compliance systems in place for the devices we provide”, commented Keith Easter, President.

12/12/08 – Bradshaw Medical, Inc. announced today that on December 2, 2008 they were issued Patent # US D581,763 S for their industry first Ratcheting Screwdriver Silicone Adjustment Ring Assembly developed by Joseph Post, Specials Project Manager at the company’s Kenosha, WI headquarters.  “We’re excited by this unique ratcheting screwdriver mechanism as it has once again taken our industry leading medical device to the next level”, stated Guy Bradshaw, Chairman.

8/21/08 – Bradshaw Medical, Inc. announced today that they completed their land purchase agreement with Towne Investments, Inc. on a 4.0 acre parcel located in the Business Park of Kenosha. Architectural plans for Phase I of a state-of-the-art 60,000 square foot medical instrument manufacturing facility are already underway with Riley Management, LLC with an anticipated completion date of October 1, 2009. “We are extremely excited about achieving this significant milestone to further serve our rapidly growing customer base and are truly appreciative of all the support Johnson Bank and the Kenosha Area Business Alliance has provided the Corporation since our inception in early 2006. BMI’s technically skilled employee base has grown from 50 to 65 throughout 2008 and is projected to be in excess of 100 by October, 2009.

4/14/08 – Bradshaw Medical, Inc. announced today that on April 8, 2008 they were issued United States Patent # US D566,271 S for their unique Parallel-Action Compressor and Distractor Instrument used in multiple spinal surgery applications. developed by Dr. Hua Gao and Joseph A. 3/18/08 – Bradshaw Medical, Inc. announced today that on February 26, 2008 they were issued Patent # US 7,334,509 B1 for their industry leading Torque Limiting Driver developed by Dr. Hua Gao, Vice President Research & Development at the company’s Kenosha, WI headquarters.  In addition, on March 18, 2008, the company was issued Patent # US 7,343,824 B1 for their revolutionary Variable-Torque Limiting Driver also developed by Dr. Gao. “With these recent patent notifications, this further demonstrates our commitment to provide innovative products on a continuous basis in the orthopedic and spinal industry”, stated Keith Easter, President.

1/31/08 – Bradshaw Medical, Inc. announced today that they have been awarded United States Design Patent # US D557,584 for their recently introduced ergonomic silicone t-handle used in the production of numerous orthopedic and spinal instruments which incorporate ratcheting, torque-limiting, and zero-play adapter mechanisms.

Bradshaw Medical offers a comprehensive line of precision handheld instruments serving the spinal and orthopedic industry and specializes in developing unique and custom products for leading medical OEM’s. Their new Total-Control line raises the standard for precision ratcheting and torque devices, spinal instruments, and now offers the industry’s widest selection of ergonomic Comfort-Grip silicone handles. The company has successfully patented or trademarked 14 instruments to date and has several others pending at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C. On February 24-28, 2009, the company will have their latest in innovative products on display at the American Academy of Orthopedics Tradeshow in Las Vegas, NV.

Bradshaw Medical, located in the Kenosha Business Park began operations in February, 2006 and has since grown to (70) employees. Sales grew another 70% in 2008 with expansion plans to build Phase I of their 60,000 square foot state-of-the art design and manufacturing facility are in process with a scheduled Spring, 2010 completion date.
